Hubei has strengthened the construction of key projects and increased the investment in infrastructure facilities, basic industries and advanced manufacturing industries, and completed 1,520 billion RMB yuan of investment in fixed assets in 2007. Meanwhile, 135 key projects has been completed or partly completed, 1,422 kilometers of expressway has been newly built and the substation capacity of 229.79 MW has been installed. The total asset of industrial enterprises above designated size in Hubei has reached 1,160 billion RMB yuan which has increased by 1.2 times over 2002.
The key projects such as 800,000-ton ethylene production, Foxconn and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation have been launched.
