There are 98 performing-art troupes, 121 cultural centers, 102 public libraries, 96 museums, 93 cinemas, 11 radio broadcasting stations, 12 TV stations and 6.4887 million cable TV users in Hubei province. In 2007, 1.64 billion newspapers, 208 million periodicals and 201 million books were published.

There are 9,170 public health institutions in the province, with 214,100 medical staffs and 143,200 hospital beds; there are 212 institutions of public health and epidemic prevention, with 9,329 medical staffs.
