Relations with Huangshi

Huangshi and Landkreis Rottweil have exchanged closely in terms of medical staff training, academic exchange, and medical cooperation for years.

In 1989, with the help of Professor Wu Zhongbi of Wuhan Tongji Medical University (today known as Tongji Medical College of HUST), Huangshi Third Hospital (later renamed Huangshi Central Hospital) and Landkreis Rottweil Hospital paired up as sister hospitals. In October 1994, Landkreis Rottweil Commissioner Mr. Autenrieth led a 12-member delegation to Huangshi, and the two sides signed a letter of intent on establishing sister city relationship. In 1998, when Huangshi was struck by severe floods, Landkreis Rottweil organized official fundraising campaigns to support Huangshi. DM 18,000 were raised, including Commissioner Autenrieth’s personal donation of DM 1,000. All the donations were used for buying rescue and relief supplies such as medicine. Huangshi Central Hospital set up a traditional Chinese medicine clinic at Landkreis Rottweil Hospital, which has been well received by local patients. Huangshi Central Hospital and Sino-German Friendship Hospital have maintained daily contact through WeChat, video link and other online platforms in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
