Secretary Wang Zhonglin meets with Deputy PM Hang Chuon Naron

On May 15, 2025, Wang Zhonglin, Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial People’s Congress, met in Wuhan with H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia.

On behalf of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and the provincial government, Wang Zhonglin extended a warm welcome to Deputy Prime Minister Hang Chuon Naron and his delegation for attending the 2025 World Digital Education Conference and conducting an official visit to Hubei.

He stated that China and Cambodia are “ironclad friends” with a long-standing and profound friendship. During President Xi Jinping’s visit to Cambodia last month, the leaders of both countries jointly announced the elevation of China-Cambodia relations to an all-weather community with a shared future for the new era, charting a clear course for exchanges and cooperation at all levels.

Under the guidance of this bilateral friendship, exchanges between Hubei and Cambodia have become increasingly frequent, economic and trade ties have grown stronger, collaboration in science, education and technology has deepened, and industrial cooperation continues to advance.

Hubei will fully implement the bilateral cooperation agreements and joint statements, and continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Cambodia in education, culture and tourism, industry, commerce, and other fields –– contributing to the writing of a new chapter in the all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future for the new era.

Deputy Prime Minister Hang Chuon Naron expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm and thoughtful reception by Hubei, as well as the province’s care and support for Cambodian students studying there. He extended congratulations on the successful hosting of the World Digital Education Conference and spoke highly of Hubei’s achievements in economic and social development.

He noted that Cambodia hopes to take this visit as an opportunity to deepen cooperation and exchanges with Hubei, strengthen synergy in respective strengths, jointly advance the Belt and Road Initiative, better benefit the people of both sides, and make greater contributions to building the new-era all-weather China-Cambodia community of shared future.
